Journeys #28
We all come to times in our life when we don’t know which way to go forward. Sometimes, when these difficult choices happen, there’s not been a lot of time for preparation. You are left feeling as if you are disconnected from everything you know and love, that you are just spinning around and around, unable to accept any of the choices on offer.

Other times, the choices are clear: this way, or that way. Sometimes these choices are thrust upon you, and sometimes you are the one who instigates the possible changes in your life.
There are many reasons that difficult choices come into your life, but when they do, it’s very rare that life will remain the same regardless of which direction you choose. Often it comes down to moving forward into lands unknown, or staying where you are and where you feel safe and secure.
These are choices that you are able to make. These are choices that only you should make. You are responsible for you, and it is never good to take a path driven by someone else’s dream and then find that it wasn’t the right path for you.
When you’ve gathered all the practical physical information you need to help you choose, and that path is very clearly in front of you, and yet you still are unsure which way to go, intuition – gut-feeling – is usually the best direction to follow. Sit down and relax, go into meditation, and consider your choices. Take note of what you feel in your body. Where do you feel it in your body? Does one choice feel heavier than the other? Does one choice make you feel energised or relaxed? Get to know how your body reacts in certain circumstances. I know that for me, a wrong choice feels as if I have horrible gas building up in my stomach, pushing up towards my throat; however, I have to be careful, because I also know that this is the reaction when I don’t want to do something the rest of my body and mind tells me is the right choice.
Another way is to ask your Higher Self for guidance – and again, it is often in your body that you feel the response.
Choices are hard, and if you get it wrong, there is only you to blame, so it makes sense to use every tool at your disposal to help you get it right.
And if all else fails – go flip a coin!! Honestly though? That’s not the best idea, but if you are really stuck – at least there’s a 50% chance it will give you the answer that feels right!
